Three-Season or Four-Season?

The difference is glass, insulation and whether you condition the air.

A three-season sunroom uses single-pane glass or vinyl windows with an insulated aluminum roof; it’s comfortable most of the year here and costs a fraction of an interior addition. A four-season room adds insulated glass, thermally broken framing and a mini-split, so it works on the hottest and coldest days.

Both start with what’s underneath. A sound, level slab is the foundation for either; if yours isn’t, we build one. See decks and concrete.

A Sunroom Is an Addition. We Permit It Like One.

Round Rock requires a permit, engineering and inspections for enclosed rooms. Most HOAs require approval.

We prepare drawings your HOA can approve, submit stamped engineering to the city, pull the building and electrical permits, schedule inspections and keep you updated. How permits and HOA work with A1.

Sunroom FAQ, Round Rock

What does a sunroom cost in Round Rock?

Three-season rooms cost a fraction of a conventional addition; four-season rooms with insulated glass and HVAC cost more. Fixed quote after measuring.

Does a sunroom add value?

Permitted enclosed living space generally does. Unpermitted enclosures can hurt a sale, which is one reason we permit every one.

Can I build on my existing slab?

Often, if it’s sound, level and thick enough. We evaluate at the consultation.

How long does it take?

Design and quote in days; permits and HOA a few weeks; construction one to two weeks.

Do I need separate HVAC?

For four-season rooms, a ductless mini-split. Three-season rooms rely on fans and shade.
