The Round Rock Backyard Problem
Two stories, a 10-by-10 slab, a west-facing wall and no trees. Sound familiar?
Most of Round Rock was built between the late 1990s and today, and the builders left the backyard for later. Later is now. The fix is usually the same three steps: extend the slab to the width of the house, cover it with insulated aluminum that stays cool in July, and add a fan, lights and screens so you use it after dark and after the mosquitoes come out. We do all three in one project, and it usually takes a few days once the permit is in hand.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a patio cover cost in Round Rock?
For a typical attached cover, somewhere between a nice vacation and a used car, depending on size, material and whether the roof ties into the house. Aluminum is usually the most affordable per square foot; wood and louvered systems cost more. We give a fixed written quote after measuring, and our Williamson County cost guide has typical ranges.
Does the City of Round Rock require a permit?
Yes, for attached covers, with stamped engineering. Most Round Rock HOAs also require architectural approval first. We handle both. Here’s how.
Aluminum or wood?
Aluminum stays cooler, needs no painting and won’t warp or attract termites. Wood offers a warmer look and can be stained to match your home. Many customers choose insulated aluminum in a wood-grain finish. Full comparison.
How long does it take?
Design and quote within days. HOA and permit typically two to five weeks in Round Rock. Installation a few days once materials are on site.
Can I come see samples?
Yes. Our shop is at 1104 S Mays St in Round Rock. Call ahead so we’re there and not on a roof, or we’ll bring samples to your consultation.
Is A1 Round Rock licensed and insured?
Texas doesn’t license this type of contractor; what protects you is insurance and permits. We carry general liability and workers’ compensation and pull the required permits on every attached structure. Certificates available on request.
